For this reason, it is extremely important that you consume at least 8 glasses of water per day, though this will vary depending on your personal fluid intake. If you want to keep your body functioning properly, it is absolutely essential that you pay close attention to how you are drinking water on a regular basis.
The most obvious benefits of water consumption are those of hydration. If you are suffering from dehydration, it can be difficult to think clearly or concentrate at all, which can really interfere with the quality of your life. Many people will drink an abundance of fluids in order to stave off dehydration, but in reality, they are not doing their bodies any favors by doing so. In addition to keeping your body hydrated, regular fluid intake also ensures that you are getting the proper levels of hydration to ensure optimal performance.3
The human body is naturally hydrated and that is the reason why we need to drink regularly. However, if you do not get enough water on a regular basis, you could be at risk for some very serious health problems. When you feel thirsty all the time, that is a sign that your body is not getting enough of the essential fluids. Symptoms Of Dehydration
In most adults, the symptoms of dehydration are similar to those of a cold. Feeling thirsty, excessive sweating, and urinating less than normal, along with dry, itchy skin, can be common signs. However, in some cases, these symptoms of dehydration can be extreme and they may be warning signs of something much more serious.5
If you’ve noticed these symptoms of dehydration, see your doctor immediately. If you’re an adult over the age of 18, there is a high risk for severe dehydration if you don’t get medical treatment within 3 hours. There are a few other symptoms of dehydration in adults that aren’t as common.

If this happens, there is usually no way for the person to recover and must seek emergency medical attention.7

Dehydration can be treated by drinking enough water, avoiding dehydrating liquids, staying properly hydrated, and avoiding situations where you might lose too much fluid. Dehydration symptoms in adults are very serious and should not be ignored or left untreated.8
The Importance of Water Intake
Water intake is very important to a bodybuilder’s diet. The body needs a certain amount of water to function properly. Bodybuilders should always strive to keep their daily water consumption at about two quarts, or about six pints, of water per day. A bodybuilder may need more than this to function properly, however, and an excessive amount of water can dehydrate the bodybuilder.

This varies among individuals and is affected by a variety of other factors such as bodybuilding activities, the amount of water in the diet, the climate of the location where the bodybuilder resides, the frequency of exercise, and whether the bodybuilder is exercising in the morning or at night. How to Boost Water Intake
Bodybuilders should not reduce their water consumption unless they have lost a significant amount of weight. Therefore, bodybuilding athletes should consume a minimum daily requirement of eight glasses of water for a healthy body.
The best method of replacing water is to take sports drink supplements. However, as mentioned earlier, bodybuilders need to consume large quantities of water to replace water loss. Therefore, a dieting bodybuilder should supplement his or her daily water intake by taking sport drink supplements. In addition, the supplements need to be consumed every hour and should always be split up between breakfast and lunch. It is important for a bodybuilder to remember that the supplements need to be consumed with food so that the diet is balanced.11
The other common method of replacing water during a bodybuilding program is through weight training. While this method of water intake for a bodybuilder will help to achieve rapid weight gain, it also carries with it the risk of dehydration. Therefore, for optimal water balance, bodybuilders should try to maintain their water intake at about six to eight cups of water per day.
